Friday
Day One

Arrive on the causeway as the mount floats on the horizon, walk up through the walled village to the abbey, and stay close enough to see it lit against the night sky.

●
Grande Rue climb
Wind up the single medieval street past leaning half-timbered houses to the abbey stair, the same route pilgrims have taken for a thousand years.
●
Abbaye du Mont-Saint-Michel
Tour the Gothic abbey and its cloister perched at the summit, an engineering marvel balanced on a granite cone above the bay.
●
Ramparts at dusk
Circle the walls as the tide slides in and the floodlights come up, turning the whole silhouette gold against the Normandy dark.

Day Two

Cross the bay itself on a guided barefoot walk over the sands, then trade the mount for the corsair ramparts and oyster beds of the Emerald Coast.

●
Guided bay crossing
Walk the tidal flats barefoot with a licensed guide who reads the quicksand and the incoming tide — the only safe way to feel the bay's scale from below.
●
Oysters at Cancale
Eat just-shucked oysters straight off the market stalls by the harbour, the tang of the Atlantic still on them.
●
Saint-Malo ramparts
Walk the granite walls of the walled corsair city as waves break below, a privateer stronghold rebuilt stone by stone after 1944.

●
Bayeux Tapestry
Read the 70-metre embroidered account of the 1066 Norman conquest, one of the most remarkable surviving objects of the Middle Ages.
●
Cathédrale Notre-Dame de Bayeux
Step into the Romanesque-Gothic cathedral the tapestry was made to hang in, its crypt frescoed and cool.
